Republican lawmakers voted to keep restrictions on US citizens travelling to Cuba. Thus the rule remains, “Americans who want to visit the island must request special license”
The Chamber -Republican majority-, voted 247 in favour and 176 on a transport funding bill which has provisions related to Cuba.
The Republican’s bill includes a ban on funding for an embassy or other diplomatic centre in Cuba and would also restrict funding to facilitate the opening of an Cuban embassy in the United States and yet the project foresees increase funding for international broadcasting programs against the Cuban government. The hope: Obama could veto a resolution of disapproval.
