Jose Daniel R. Alonso, Director of Business of the Tourism Ministry, confirmed on Monday that the association between state Cuba Golf and Chinese firm Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited to implement the project in the area Monte Bello will be subscribed on Wednesday.
The official explained reporters from 12 nations present at the 10th edition of the International Seminar on Journalism and Tourism that the project is valued at 462 million dollars and that it’s the second of its kind approved in the country to date.
He recalled that the first joint venture for the development of real estate associated with golf courses was created in early 2014 with the British company Esencia Hotels and Resorts, which will boost an investment estimated at 360 million dollars near the island’s main tourist resort, Varadero.
Daniel Alonso also told journalists that they expect to constitute the third joint venture by the end of 2015.

Foreign ministers Bruno Rodriguez, from Cuba, and K. Shanmugam, from Singapore, signed visa exemption agreement between the two nations.
The agreement, which covers the reciprocal exemption from this requirement for holders of diplomatic, official, service and ordinary passports, is an expression of the interest of both countries to facilitate the free flow of their citizens and promote bilateral cooperation.

Cuba and the European Union (EU) made progress in negotiating a trade agreement during the fourth round of talks in Brussels ended on Tuesday, diplomatic sources reported.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry said on its website the significant results obtained with regard to cooperation between the two sides during the meetings of the last two days.
It also noted that the delegations expressed their positions and aspirations during an exchange on the chapter on political dialogue.
The parties, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Abelardo Moreno, and the executive director for the Americas of the European Action Service Exterior, Christian Leffler, agreed to meet again in September in Havana.
The representatives of the Caribbean country and corroborated the bloc will continue to advance this process in order to conclude the negotiations as soon as possible, said Cubaminrex.

Sprint has rolled out a new plan called Cuba 20 Plus plan for $10 per month, while T-Mobile has introduced the World Calling plan for the same rate; both carriers offer 20 minutes of voice calling to Cuba.
Sprint Corp customers can add Sprint Cuba 20 Plus to their local rate plan and get 20 voice call minutes to any phone line in Cuba for $10 per month. In case a customer uses up the allocated 20 minutes, they will be charged 70 cents per minute for every additional minute consumed. The new plan does not include any supplementary charges for texting or calling to Canada or Mexico, while calls to 180 additional countries are charged at discounted rates.
Sprint’s senior vice president of marketing, Tom Roberts, remarked that the affordable international calling plans are a significant feature. He stated: “Sprint is the first national carrier to offer an affordable calling option to Cuba. We are continuing to expand our international offers for customers traveling abroad or while calling or texting from the US.”
Meanwhile, T-Mobile US Inc CEO John Legere announced via Twitter that the company’s prepaid brand MetroPCS is introducing a World Calling plan, which will allow T-Mobile customers in the US to enjoy 20 minutes of voice calling to individuals in Cuba. Similar to Sprint, T-Mobile is also charging $10 per month for the plan.
T-Mobile also offers two other, similar plans for $50 and $60 per month with exciting international features for its US customers. The two said plans offer international roaming, 200 text messages, 200MB of data, and 200 minutes of talk time for selected countries. Also, customers in the US can enjoy unlimited text messaging to a majority of nations, along with 200 minutes of talk time for mobile devices in selected countries. The plans also offer unlimited talk time on landlines in over 75 different nations.
